Transform dull skin into a healthy, radiant complexion
At Van Dyke Yun Dermatology, our team, including our esthetician Linda, loves chemical peels for recharging the skin—reducing signs of sun damage and aging, as well as treating certain types of acne. Tried and true, peels have been used throughout time and continue to be one of the most effective and efficient skin treatments to date.
With each peel, you’ll see improved tone and texture and an increase in collagen and elastin production. Another benefit of chemical peels are better absorption of skin care products and smoother makeup application.

What exactly is a "peel?"
A chemical peel is an incredibly quick and easy procedure whereby a solution is applied topically to cleaned skin and allowed to permeate. Serum or moisturizer is then applied as needed, followed by sunscreen. And that’s it! Over the next few days, the top layers of treated skin will slough off to reveal fresher, healthier skin.
It’s called a peel because you may experience exfoliation like flaking or peeling (depending on the type and strength of peel you receive), but you don’t have to peel for it to be effective!
What chemical peels do you offer?
- Jessner’s Peel
- Containing a blend of powerful ingredients including lactic acid and salicylic acid, our Jessner’s peel is ideal for patients with oily, acne-prone, and/or sun damaged skin. You can expect flaking and exfoliation in 3-4 days following your peel, with optimum results of clearer, healthier skin with a week.
- TCA Peel
- Incredible versatile and every dermatologist’s favorite, TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels are excellent for treating fine lines and wrinkles, minimizing the appearance of pores, improving uneven tone and texture, and revealing a radiant glow. Depending on the strength of your TCA peel, you can expect your skin to slough off or peel for about a few days, revealing more youthful, undamaged skin in about a week.
- Cosmelan®
- The world's leading professional depigmentation method for treating the most severe and stubborn skin spots. Excellent results in the short and long term thanks to its unique dual action mechanism: corrective and regulatory. On the one hand, it eliminates the visible spot, but also acts on the source of the problem, regulating the overproduction of pigment to prevent its reappearance. A two part treatment product, the initial treatment is an in-office procedure with application of the Cosmelan cream mask (Cosmelan 1). You will leave this mask on for the amount of time specified by your Medical Provider. This may be from 4 to 8 hours depending on your skin type. You will remove the mask with a neutral cleanser and apply the special post treatment cream that comes with your Cosmelan Pack.
