What Are Skin Lesions?
While most skin lesions, like warts and moles, are harmless, they can be removed at Van Dyke Yun Dermatology for aesthetic reasons or to avoid potential health problems, like skin irritations or cancer. Moles, warts, skin tags, and keratosis are all among a wide variety of different types of lesions and/or skin growths. Sometimes they are on top of the skin causing a bump, or sometimes they are under the skin and cause a dark patch. Either way, there are several methods for removing these skin lesions. During an initial consultation with one of our board-certified dermatologists, we can determine the best approach to removing your skin lesion. Call our Studio City, CA office today for more information.
How are Warts, Moles, and Growths Removed?
Lesion removal at Van Dyke Yun Dermatology is ideal for Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, CA men and women who have moles, warts, and other growths. This procedure is commonly provided by board-certified dermatologists Dr. Greg Van Dyke and Dr. Jasmine Yun for both cosmetic and medical reasons. We will typically remove lesions at our Studio City, CA office while you are under local anesthesia in one of our private procedure rooms. Some lesions can be removed by simply shaving them off while others require laser treatment or excision. These procedures are usually pretty quick, get you right home afterward, and cause minimal scarring. You might feel a little tender after your treatment, but this will fade in a few days and can be helped with the use of over-the-counter pain meds. In the case you have stitches, we will give you at-home care instructions. You can expect your skin to scab over and heal within about 2 – 3 weeks with proper care.
